Bill Kenley, author of just released “High School Runner (Freshman),” and Bob Kennedy, former two-time Olympic runner and four-time NCAA Champion while at Indiana University, are teaming up to talk running at Athletic Annex in Broad Ripple.

WHAT: “High School Running and Identity”

WHEN: Wednesday, June 24, 7-8:30 p.m.

WHERE: Athletic Annex, 6528 Cornell Ave., Indianapolis, IN 46220. (317)-253-1792

EVENT SUMMARY: This event is geared toward young adult readers and runners, but anyone is welcome. Using his young adult novel “High School Runner (Freshman)” and fictional cross-country runner Sherman Kindle, teacher and runner Kenley connects with young men and women through stories that entertain and inspire.

On June 24, he will read from the book and discuss how Sherman Kindle comes to understand himself through running and how the goals we set for ourselves define us. Bob Kennedy will join the discussion, sharing his own high school running experience and how it shaped him as a young man.

Following the discussion, everyone present is invited to take a short (about 30 minutes) group run with Kenley and Kennedy. Following the run, everyone is invited back to Athletic Annex for refreshments. “High School Runner (Freshman)” will be available for purchase and Kenley will be signing books.

RSVP: Registration is not necessary, but you can “Join” through Athletic Annex’s Facebook page:
